3. Focus on Patterns, Not Consequences

Being pattern-matching systems, AIs act according to statistical logic of their training data, without understanding the scale of tragedy of millions of lost lives.

The Cold Numbers

Quantitative simulation results:

100 simulated rounds:

Escalation to nuclear conflict: 68%
Successful negotiation: 12%
Indefinite stalemate: 20%

Nuclear attack choice rate when available: 41%

Models by aggressiveness:
